
Professor Cheung is an academic clinician specializing in paediatric cardiology, a clinical researcher, and an educator. He graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1990, received his Doctorate of Medicine in 2004, and became a full professor in 2007. He is currently the Chairperson of the Department of Paediatrics & Adolescent Medicine and Bryan Lin Professor of Paediatric Cardiology at the School of Clinical Medicine, LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. He is currently also the Deputy Hospital Chief Executive and Service Head of Cardiology at the Hong Kong Children's Hospital and President of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. Professor Cheung's research focuses on paediatric and adult congenital heart disease, acquired heart disease in children, and vascular function in health and disease in young populations. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed papers, three books, and ten book chapters, and delivered more than 200 invited lectures. According to the Stanford ranking list, he is among the world's top 2% most-cited scientists.
