Dr. Oscar van der Have is a fellow in pediatric cardiology at Skåne University Hospital and a postdoctoral researcher at the Biomedical Center, Lund University, Sweden. He defended his doctoral thesis on vascular remodeling in the pulmonary and fetal circulation in May 2025 and is currently an IGNITE Postdoctoral Fellow at the Wallenberg Center for Molecular Medicine at Lund University, working in the laboratory of Dr. Karin Tran-Lundmark.
He divides his time equally between clinical practice and translational research, with the latter focusing on the role of the extracellular matrix in cardiac development and fetal vasculature. During his PhD-training, he also developed a strong research interest in the management of pulmonary vascular resistance in ventricular assist devices and pediatric heart transplantation.
