
Dr Nicola Boyd is a senior trainee in Fetal & Paediatric Cardiology, currently based at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. She previously completed a fellowship in Fetal cardiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Dr Boyd's current projects include 'The cardiac phenotype in fetuses with prenatal RASopathy diagnosis', guideline development for 'Pre-operative cardiac assessment in babies undergoing neonatal general surgery procedures' and 'Outcomes of pregnancies with an antenatal diagnosis of Pulmonary Atresia with intact ventricular septum'. She has been actively involved in development of a network Simulation programme, providing in-situ training for professionals managing cardiac patients in regional hospitals, as well as involvement in national research projects across the UK.
