
Leo Lopez, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is a past President of the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography, past Chair of the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) Council on Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, former member of the ASE Board of Directors, and past President of the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission Echocardiography. He is currently the Program Chair for the 2026 ASE Scientific Sessions. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biophysics from the Johns Hopkins University and his Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He then completed his pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. His research interests include pediatric echocardiographic quantification, congenital cardiac morphology, and quality metrics for cardiac noninvasive imaging.
