Prof. Giovanni Di Salvo, MD, PhD, is Director of the Pediatric Cardiology Unit and Coordinator of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program at the University Hospital of Padua, Italy. He is also Director of the Experimental Cardiology Laboratory at the Pediatric Research Institute (IRP), where he leads translational research integrating advanced imaging, biomarkers, and pathophysiological modeling.

He currently serves as President of the Italian Society of Cardiovascular Imaging (SIECVI) and is Chair of the EACVI Shared Interest Group (SIG) on Congenital Heart Disease. He is a past President of the Working Group on Congenital Heart Disease of the Italian Society of Cardiology and has been an active member of the Executive Board of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) for many years.
His clinical and research activities focus on advanced echocardiographic imaging, myocardial function, and the management of congenital heart disease across the lifespan. He has made significant contributions to the development of innovative, non-invasive methods for cardiac functional assessment, including myocardial work analysis and novel approaches to ventricular pressure and mass estimation. His research also includes pediatric cardiomyopathies, integrating multimodality imaging and molecular insights.

Prof. Di Salvo has an extensive academic output, with an H-index of 54 (Scopus) and 66 (Google Scholar), and a total of 10,876 citations (Scopus) and 27,465 citations (Google Scholar). He is author and editor of key reference works in pediatric echocardiography and congenital cardiology, and is actively involved in national and international research collaborations.
