Damien Schaffner, MD, studied medicine at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and completed his training in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) in Lausanne. Following an observership at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver, USA (2022), he worked in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) at Hôpital Necker–Enfants Malades in Paris, France (2022–2023). He is currently completing a three-year fellowship in pediatric and congenital interventional cardiology at the Deutsches Herzzentrum der Charité in Berlin, Germany.
He served as a Junior Councillor of the AEPC Working Group on Paediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care from 2022 to 2025 and is currently a Councillor of the same working group.
