Prof. Attilio Lotto is a Senior Consultant in Congenital Cardiac Surgery at Alder Hey Children Hospital, Liverpool, with additional involvement in the surgical management of adults with congenital heart disease at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. After training in Birmingham, London and Paris, he was appointed Consultant at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester in 2010, where later became Clinical Lead, before moving to Liverpool in 2015.

His surgical practice covers the full spectrum of congenital cardiac disease, with a particular interest in neonatal repairs and complex valve repair. He holds a Professorship at Liverpool John Moores University and has an active academic profile, including peer-reviewed publications and international presentations. He is President of the European Congenital Heart Surgery Association (ECHSA), Chair of the Congenital Subcommittee for the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain (SCTS), Member of the Congenital Domain of the European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery (EACTS), and a member of the Governing Council of the World Society of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery (WSPCHS).
