
Felix Oberhoffer, MD, MHBA, is a pediatric clinician scientist specializing in cardiovascular prevention with a particular focus on the health risks of energy drink consumption in children and adolescents. He completed his medical studies at Saarland University and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich in 2019 and obtained his medical license the same year. In 2020, he earned his doctoral degree in pediatric cardiology with highest distinction, followed by a Master of Health Business Administration at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in 2022. Since April 2020, Dr. Oberhoffer has served as a pediatric resident and clinician scientist at the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Intensive Care at LMU Munich. In April 2023, he additionally joined the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at TUM University Hospital/ Munich Municipal Hospital Group. He has expanded his clinical and preventive expertise through additional qualifications in sports medicine, nutritional medicine, and lipidology (DGFF®). A central pillar of his research is the cardiovascular impact of energy drinks on minors. He leads several innovative and nationally funded projects investigating acute changes in cardiovascular function following energy drink intake. These studies have made significant contributions to understanding the risks associated with energy drinks in youth populations. Dr. Oberhoffer’s scientific achievements have been recognized with multiple national research awards. He is an active member of the Association for European Paediatric and Congenital Cardiology and the German Society for Pediatric Cardiology.
